More accomplished this week.
The TH400 Driveshaft had to be shortened 2" and got a 4L60E yoke and a new u-jount for the rear.
Mounted the fuel pump and filter. I am Using OE style nylon tubing and quick disconnects.
I dropped the tank out to weld a return line into the sending unit. I then found these vent tubes that were completely left opne to the atmosphere. The larger one is now for the return line.
Exhaust is next. Then cold air intake. Then startup.

I always seem to get ones that leak. After all the exhaust is welded together I get the swazall out and cut the pipes where there is a straight section and put the total seal truck style clamps on. No leaks then!

I put coolant in the car and while it was warming up the water pump started leaking. Then the Alternator stopped charging. I bought new parts and am installing them tonight. I was also trying to figure out what to use as a throttle cable. I used the van cable on the last build so I decided to stop at the dealer and take a look at a Camaro cable without cruise control. They use the same cables just a small pulley setup where the cruise motor would be so that was out. Then I asked the guy to look up a cable for a 01 Silverado. Looks good so thats what I bought. With my discount it was only $25!

I used lokar 1000-LS $55 on summit looks and works great. I just made a T bracket out of 3/16 steel that monted to the intake for the cable. (Looks just like Lokar Ls1 throttle bracket)

Here is a shot of the patient on the ground. Haven't driven it yet, too much ice and snow up here.
New alternator and water pump.
I found a 2000 Silverado throttle cable works well on this application. With my dealer discount it was only $25.
I had to remove the pedal and bend the top slightly to get the travel needed.
The plastic retainer that came on the cable would not work with the '69 pedal so I cut it off and used the one that was on the pedal for the '69 throttle cable.
Installed. Fits perfect.

So the new alternator didn't charge. I went to Auto Zone and they didn't have another one so they had one sent in from another store. I went over this evening to pick it up and asked them to test it. It failed. Needless to say I got the money back. Now I need to get a good one.

Wow, talk about Autozone getting worse and worse. The same thing happened with me yesterday at Autozone, went to get the belt for the engine, the person got the belt but then decided to talk to a coworker and move things around in the store. I turned around and left.
Are there any Napa stores there?
