70 Nova fuel tank options
In tank pump options or is everyone sumping the factory tank and using an external pump?
Looking for options for my hybrid pro touring Nova that I am building for my wife.
Thanks
I find it very odd why these Novas are always left behind with things like these. Either way, I have been going back and forth via email with Justin at Tanks Inc. This is what he recommended if you need to switch to EFI and cannot wait for their new tanks to arrive.
TM46C - Tank
FG104C - Fuel Sender
ST91 - Tank Straps
PA-4 - Fuel Pump
PA-REC - Pump weld in recess
VV - In Tank Rollover Vent Valve - Brass
I think the sender unit has to be modified, where you cap the feeder tube. Unfortunately the 69 Camaro tank fits but the filler neck is way off. So if you are up to modifying the trunk floor you can get one of those tanks.
The other option is to place the pump outside and inline with the regulator. Which I am almost leaning towards this, as the non efi tank from Tanks Inc is close to $550 with shipping.

I ended up using the Tanks In tank pump kit.. and also did some extra work on a baffle. You can see my build thread.
There are options. most of them are a bit Costly..

My Spectra setup is worked great. I'm kind of leaving the original pump setup in the dust since I've decided to go turbo with my build. But the good news is, with the right adapters, the Spectra tank will be able to accommodate dual walbros. If you want an idea of what path I'm taking for this, check out the senders from Racetronix that they make for Grand Nationals. The senders are almost identical to the spectra design. Racetronix makes an adapter to couple 2 walbros together and feed into a single 3/8" hard line with o-ring seals like EFI fittings. I'm yet to get all this rigged up with pictures, but it'll be together real soon.
I'm just giving some fuel to the fire for the readers in case they want to know their options for upgrading in the future.
