I used so these from summit for my mounts and they worked perfect.

The 4L60e fits perfectly although I am thinking im going to switch to a 700r4 for the speedometer.

I have more pictures if needed.

I've been doing this swap over 4 years now but did a full frame off first so that's why not much pics. Spent over a year just cleaning the floors and frame! Couple pics for some of my progress

You may have read my thread but I installed a L92/6L80 into a 1965 Buick Skylark. Had to raise the transmission tunnel maybe 1 1/4". Everything has worked out well.

Nice build! Did you weld the tunnel back on cause in one pic it's cut and another it's reassembled.

17x8's all around, 235/55 17 up front and 255/50 17 rear. Whated to go wider in rear but for now can't but can deal with that later. Rest is 2001 Fbody brakes all four corners, bilsteins HD shocks, UMI suspension with delrin bushings front/Rear, Tanks inc EFI gas tank and Hotchkis lowering springs all around.

I'm doing a 72 cutlass, using the holley pan, chevelle frame stands, energy suspension mounts/adapters, and setting it so the heads almost touch the firewall. I want to keep the engine low, and rearward for cg/handling. To fit a 4l80 and have reasonable driveline angles in a lowered car means I'm building a new trans tunnel.

That GM pan might fit for mock up but it's super low. There are several much better options available now, there isn't any real reason to use it. Even the CTS-V is low, I'm switching it out for the 302-2 whenever I start working on it again.

Ok, so the Holley 302-2, GM gasket, dipstick and tube are on order plus the engine block is painted and ready. Next thing I need to figure out is the water pump and accessories.

I know I head somewhere that people were using the short water pumps for the swaps and cutting the truck alternator mount. Any reason I can't use the stock truck pump, brackets and such?

I used all truck fead stuff since I had a truck crack pulley, just had to get a different ps pulley. I did cut something on a bracket, but can't recall if it was for something a/c related or because I had to for initial fitment. Either way this aluminum cuts like butter with an angle grinder so not a huge deal.

Nice car... a couple of things .. no doubt you have to make a new tunnel for the 6l80 / 6l90 . a lot of 6l80 swaps change over to the g-8 pan and filter which I dont think will fit the 6l90 -the pans are shaped a little different in one corner .also you may have to change out your output and tailshaft on the trans .in addition to that shifting into the lower gears requires some type of electronic shifting ( speartech has some options as well as some places offer paddle shifting ). For the time and money it may be worth getting a built 4l70 or 4l80 depending on your application . JOHN

Power steering interference , some put a smaller pulley on the steering pump like this

Depending on how you want to route your top radiator hose , some use a 2010 camaro water pump , but the truck pump can be made to work with a long hose [from a truck] or a radiator with both hoses on the passengers side
