Default Corvette flexplate ???

I'm putting a c5 vette ls1 in a 54 chevy truck for a customer and want to know if I can use the vette flexplate and grind off the rivets that attach an adapter for the torque tube and just bolt it to a normal converter. I'm getting a 4l60 from a wrecked truck that comes with the truck flexplate.

Why not just use the one that comes with the 4L60E,and sell the vette one to a C5 guy?
