Default MSD fuel pump

i was looking through the new speedway motors catalog and i saw a ls1 fuel delivery kit that includes pump and regulator and fittings. it has a MSD in line high pressure fuel pump included, can put out up to 43gph at 40 psi or 39gph at 80 psi. just wondering if anybody has run this pump with their setup? Is it strong enough to support 400hp

Hadn't even heard of this pump myself. Here is the link for anyone interested:

It says it's rated for up to 500 hp. I don't think I would trust barb fittings though. I have 6AN fittings on both sides on my Walbro

Barb fittings are fine as long as you use the proper size and rating high pressure fuel line and clamps. I use OEM steel fittings (bead rolled end) with J30R9 Gates hose and never had a problem. I of course check them and replace the lines if something even starts to look a little odd.

I'm not a fan of steel braided line for fuel delivery for several reasons. With steel braided one can't predict failures because you can't see or catch them as they begin to happen.

We just bought this setup for a stock 5.3 swap and I know of another guy that used it on a stock 5.3 chevelle. He says it works very well, esp on a stock setup where you don't have to weld a sump on the pan.
