Damn I was hoping to see this progress. I'd love to have an ole caddy I could drive anywhere in the U.S. Sans the old car issues and poor fuel mileage.

There are a couple on a website dedicated to the 1961 and 1962 Cadillacs.

SHUCKS! I just found this thread, only to find the Caddy was sold.

Love the '61-'62 Caddy's, dad had a '62 SDV, they took me on a road trip in it to the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Lake Mead, Lake Powell, Zion Canyon, & Salt Lake back in 1970. My older brother took it to college after that, where it earned the nickname "The Batmobile". Came close to picking up a '62 'vert in the mid '80s from my then FIL, but the bumpers were rusted through and I didn't think I'd ever find the parts it needed to make it like I wanted. Always wanted to drop a blown BBC into one, paint it black and scare all the neighbors.

I have found a '62 SDV with a 5.3 on it. I'm working a deal for that one. Needs a little bodywork, but it looks ok otherwise. It's just he shipping cost that is making me a little hesitant.
