Default Anyone use a dakota digital e fan controller?

Had some issues with getting my electric fan wired to work with the GM computer.

I'm looking at using the Dakota Digital PAC-2750 and their BIM 01-1 to feed the controller directly from the OBD-2.

Wanted to know if anyone had experience with their controllers.

Yes, I am currently using the pac2750 DD controller to run 2 Dual speed fans in a big block powered 56 Chevy pickup. I have it wired in a series/ parallel configuration. The controller controls the ground side of the relay based on on/off settings based on user selection. It comes with one relay but depending on your application may require a second relay. Dakota Digital has a download available on their website with complete instructions for wiring just about any vehicle system. I did not mount the controller in the engine compartment as I did not want to have the heat affecting it. Sorry I dont have any pics.

Thanks for the response, I plan on wiring mine up this weekend. I've only got a single speed fan on my Jeep. I've currently got it wired on a 3 way switch but the only options are ignition hot, dead or battery on. Definitely looking forward to having the automatic temp control instead of it running constantly.

How did you wire it from the PCM? I ran the fan control wire from the PCM to the ground side of a 4 pin relay. It was a truck PCM with mechanical fan, but I had the guy who flashed my puter add a fan control set to 190 on an empty pin. Lt1swap.com has pictures and write ups.

Yes, how???

I'm actually running both my fans off a "truck" ecm... one comes on at 195...the other about 5 degrees higher...

Default New problem...

Ran into a problem with my plan.

I wanted to use the BIM-01-1 to read input from the OBD-2 and feed it to the PAC-2750.... Which I get an error code basically telling me my OBD isn't compatible... Pisses me off since I assumed it would be standard with It being a 05 truck PCM...

So now my only option to use the PAC-2750 is to install one of their dedicated temp senders...

Problem is I am using one head adapter with my autometer full swap gauge, which also isn't compatible with the 2750 and the other is the stock coolant sensor...

Any thoughts on where I can put the dakota temp sender?

You could try putting it in your water pump. What pump are you using?

I believe I have the truck pump. Large flat surface at 1 o clock. Filler points forward at an angle at 11 I clock.

Found some radiator hose adapters so I'm going to take the easy route for now. Want to get this project done ASAP.

Next month I'll be going to the speed shop for some TSP Stage 2.5 LS6 heads so I may have them tap the pump while it's drained.
