Default I Know the Feeling!

Awesome you got to take it for a spin. Recently started taking mine out after decades. Still have some gremlins and finishing touches to handle.

It's an old thread that I just came across when looking how to connect to my Spectra gm32fbi. If your still around thanks for the part #'s doing a frame off LS conversion on a 69 bird myself.

Default Sold It

I have sold the car and am looking for the next thing. I still have the LSX Greenbrier but am looking for a family cruiser like an old Cadillac or Continental. Not sure if I’ll do a LS swap, but will most likely do a bolt on efi setup.

Glad I could help. In all honesty though, I probably wouldn’t do the spectra tank again. Maybe it’s been improved, but that knock-off fuel pump that have is prone to failure and I was experiencing high pressure in the gas tank, even with a vented cap. I don’t know if Tanks Inc or Ricks does not have this problem, but it might be worth looking into.

Hey Sprech, came across an old post of yours for your Bird where you had bought 6 series BMW seats. I am close to pulling the trigger on a pair of these, no issues with the wiring and the can bus setup, but wondering how you mounted in your Firebird. These will go in my 69 Camaro that is all apart and repainted after 22 years; I have owned it since 1990. Hope you see this, if not I will amble slowly forward with a combination of square tubing and flat steel and see what happens. Thx in advance...........

Hey there, how are you? I wish I could remember how those seats were mounted in the car, but I did not do it. I *think* they may have had minimal modification to them and the only real need was to run a power wore to the seats them selves. Just make sure if they have the integrated seat belt that you sandwich the floor board between a plate and the seat that way it doesn't tear out if there is an impact.

I can see no post where it specifies the year of the BMW 6 series the seats came from, and it was late so apologies for the dyslexic moment on the "er" vs "re".

They appear to be from an E64 6-series. That would be around 2003-2010. The E64 is the convertible version and that is why the seatbelts are integrated into the seat because there is no b-pillar.

nleming: Thank you. Didn't realize the convertible option. Now it makes sense.

Cheers!
