a/c compressor compatibility

I am swapping a 01 5.3 into my 85 Jeep Cj. I need to know if the 01 compressor will work with the 85 system. This would ease the 134 conversion process . If so, how do I wire it up.

I was going to put an 01 5.3 into my 70 truck and was told the A/C compressor will not work on the older A/C systems. I would think this would also be the case with the Jeep.

all compressors do the same thing, so changing from one to another won't make any difference. only thing that you would need to do is make sure your using the right type of oil for the freon your using.
