so i can just use that chevette sender in the stock tank and add an inline type pump before the corvette fuel filter/regulator? i don't have to make any changes to the tank itself or anything? maybe i'm just making this harder than i thought lol

If the Chevette sender has a return line you could. You would not be foolish to put a pre filter before the pump if you want the pump to live a long happy life.
