Usually start at 225 to 300 dollars, if you can find one and it's complete. They also go really quick, so if you snooze, you lose. For a few dollars more, it's a wash to me. New everything, no worries about cracks etc.....

I got my F-body pan set up for $275 last year from GM parts wholesale. Came with everything from dip stick to filter. No cleaning, no old gaskets, no used bolts, no rusty windage tray, no E-bay stress.

I don't know what kind of space you're working with underneath, but I managed to put a c5 corvette batwing pan in mine, no frame or pan mods needed.

I got my oil pan with the metal gasket, my question is do I need to use permatex or some gasket sealer with the gasket? The gasket has the rubbery stuff around it.

No. Wouldn't hurt to put a small dab where the front and rear covers meet the pan at the gaps though. That is usually where you sometimes might get a leak, Otherwise torque it correctly and it should be fine.

update: Decided the best way to get pan in was to simply move the transmission back and slide the pan out. No Go ! the motor will have to be lifted to get the pan out This is going to be way more work than i planned.
