You could also make a Conestoga wagon out of the flat bed

Default 4 or 8.2

I dig the look of 4, kinda ole' service truck. But 8.2 is pretty cool looking and would be more utilitarian. Either way, sweet project and keep the updates coming!

Decided I could through up a few more shots of some of the other things I've got done to this point.
I had to modify the water neck because it will be right under the cab floor.

I also built and installed a engine cross member, the engine/trans will come out from the bottom if needed. And no I have no exhaust clearance issues :-)

The engine is offset 1" to the passengers side, this centered the trans in the cross member where the carrier bearing used to live. Later I will build a trans mount which hangs off the same cross member.

I've also completed the wiring as far as I can go at this point. I stripped all the unneeded circuits and separated the harness back to the ECU. Having the intake reversed and having a mid mounted set up almost all the wiring will need to be modified in length and routing. I'm still undecided as to where to mount the electronics.

Stumbled on this today:

on a 1978 cadillac FWD frame with a 500ci v8 and the back half is a car hauler trailer grafted on.

There was a beaut like this (only finished) on E-Bay a few years ago, bright green and built on a Toronado front drive frame. It looked like this, with a trailer grafted onto the driving section of the frame. Wish I'd saved a pic of it. It really wouldn't take much more than a 10k-rated double axle trailer and a GM front drive chassis...

OK guys, I'm looking for a little information here. As you know I'm running a mid-mounted transmission. I have a 4L60 and am looking for the measurements listed below, also if anyone has a fish scale handy I would like to know how much force it takes at it's hardest gear position.
What I'm doing is replacing the stock cable system with a linear actuator which will be controlled by a push/pull switch on the dash. You can also see an idea I'm considering for the bed.
Thanks in advance,
Rob

Are you planning on adding air bags to the rear to support a cars weight?

If I do go the small car hauler route I will need some kind of extra support for the weight for sure. I would also need to do some frame reinforcements.

Yeah, I assumed you'd be doing some additional frame mods like boxing and some more cross-bracing.

And if you're planning on hauling more than yourself the 4l60 might be in need of upgrade. I hate those things.
