S10/LS1 Build
Thanks!
-The Corvette accessories are the shallowest option, and I wanted plenty of clearance in front of the radiator. The camaro accessories don't work because the alternator mounts where the steering box is. If theres a way to convert it, then it may work.
-I don't know of anyone else who makes a T56 cross member. Most people on the forum build their own.
-I have a feeling it will sit a little higher up front since the engine is aluminum. Other people have done this swap with iron blocks and the same suspension, and their ride height didn't change.
I am really really having a hard time deciding on exhaust, I don't know why. It has been the toughest decision for me during this whole swap. I have entertained the idea of the dual in/out with x-pipe, but I have heard its too loud, I just cant decide lol.

On the exhaust, I watched plenty of videos before I bought the dual in dual out Magnaflow muffler. The shorter version of that muffler is a bit loud for my taste, but you really should consider the longer one. I got mine in yesterday, I can't wait to hear it with the long tubes!
OP, anything going on with the brakes? I recently finished a swap to Camaro brakes on all 4 corners if you need any info...
Sorry to the OP for hijacking, this is great information
I have converted the rears to disc already, and I have a set of C5 calipers I need to put on the front. I need to find a set of Blazer drop spindles and Camaro caliper brackets so they will fit under a 16" wheel.
Plus there isn't anything really to worry about melting. Its one of the best mods I've done on my dime
You are doing an excellent job photographing details and documenting your build. Would like to see a little more about making the harness and where you bought needed parts from. On the issue with the closeness of the headers to the suspension, I wonder if a simple fix might be to put some 1/16 or 1/8 shims between the mounts and frame pad. It might be possible to do just one side and won't change engine level enough to matter. On the drivers side, you would have to check the steering clearance to the header. I would also suggest getting something like a tailgate cable and anchoring the drivers side of the engine to the frame in case a motor mount should break. If the engine were to rock up under power with a broken mount, its possible that the header could interfere with the ability to steer the vehicle. Keep up the great work and you'll really have a nice truck there.
So I have been busy tackling all of the little re-assembly stuff going on with the truck. I have finished all of the wiring as well. Here is what I have been up to:
exhaust: dual 3" with Borla Pro xs mufflers and an x-pipe.

I got the front end put back together with all of the accessories

I installed my fan HI/LOW fuse box:

I used a garden sprayer to prime the oil system. Moon gave me the idea with his HF oil pump, but I felt better going this route because it still pumps through the filter.

It threads right into the oil galley coming from the oil pump. and I was able to see 25-35 PSI.

I used a mechanical oil pressure gauge threaded into where the oil pressure sender goes. I drilled and tapped a broken sender to 1/8" NPT and used the fittings the gauge came with. it worked like a charm. I will post some pictures of the sender once I remove it.

And last but not least.......................
