What Starter for an LS3?

GM calls for the 10465385 starter for an LS3. Will any starter do for LS or LQ series engine or is this specific to the LS3? GM Parts direct is $263 and Rock Auto is $271 for a reman.

Are there some that are smaller? This thing does not cross with anything out there.

I went thru the same thing. I did find out some starters has a higher wattage output for the ls2 and ls3 . I think the fiscal sizes are about the same and will bolt up.

You will need the pigtail too. Its specific to the starter. IIRC…. about $15.00. Try a SEARCH. Its all been covered before.
