I don't know how you get the right angle and clear the hood without notching the crossmember. My body bushings are worn which effect the height some, I positioned the motor similar gofastwclass. The 3 bolt rubber mount shares the front top bolt on the motor adapter plate, I made the plate out of 3/16" steel, used factory engine stands with 3/16" plate under it. I still had to notch the out of the top and back of the crossmember. I measured my rear and got -2* which could be from worn bushings but I can get the motor to +4* before the crank pulley hits the sway bar. I might need a more accurate angle finder since I was using my phone's digital angle finder.

First, here is a picture of my air intake. The maf is located on top at the moment, but I had it located on the bottom where it couldn't be seen:

I see others have the same general layout for the air intake. Where is your MAF located?
I am getting lean codes on my engine. PSI Conversions says that the MAF needs to be no moreo than 6-8" from the TB, and mounted on top (like mine is now) rather than bottom.
The tech at Spectre who configued the components for my to buy for the air intake says it makes no difference where the MAF is located.
I don't know who to believe. I'd hate to go to the effort to move it back and still have the lean codes coming up.
What are you guys doing for MAF location, and do you ever get lean codes?

I thought the MAF was supposed to be in a place with straight pipe infront and behind it. I Checked my install instructions for my LSA and it should be in a straight piece of pipe 6" minimun with it centered to straighten out the flow.

I don't know if you have to worry about the diamiter mine is for the LSA.

Hey Rey, They are ICT Billet adaptors https://www.ebay.com/itm/LS-Valve-Co...-/132387466937
The valve covers are just reproductions https://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevy-Scrip...53.m1438.l2649

I did notch the front cross member on my 61 to get the Ujoint angle within the specs I like.
That also gave me the hood clearance to add a high rise intake manifold after I get enough miles on the new LS3 for some dyno work.
They Holly 302 oil pan helped.
I reinforced the front cross member with 3/16" plate in the notches and on the front and rear surfaces. I made my motor mounts out of 3/16" plate and cut down Camaro mounts.
Very happy with the results.

I am using a Eddies Motorsports kit on mine. Started off with a non AC version but recently added Vintage Air so I just ordered the additional bracket and compressor from them. http://www.eddiemotorsports.com/stor...e-pulley-kits/

The Holley set up is a good value for the price.
The Vintage Air LS Front Runner is the most compact and with a single CNC machined Beam to mount everything on it has less spacers and long bolts.
That makes it more rigid and cuts down on things to get misaligned and come loose. Plus it comes with a new water pump and crank damper.
I think all of the complete kits from March, Billet Specialties and Eddie Motor Sports are good but from my experience the VA set up is the best design.
My car may look like a trailer queen but it's built to drive hard and be reliable.

I have a all original loaded, 348 powered 58 Nomad that I am thinking of installing a 6.0 that I have for a Trams Am. I don't have unlimited funds so it is to be more useable then to show. And ideas / suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
