Making Victor Jr progress for the 35 sedan
Pat
The laptop guy thinks it would make perhaps 400 hp at the tire on a dyno. I will eventually talk my son into taking it to work with him so he can make a couple passes on the A&A Corvette dyno. I think 400 is pretty close, this is a hard pullin' 5.7 now even with the stock cam and heads.
I am pleased with the outcome and can't see a negative so far.

X3...My thoughts also...
I think this idea is so bitchin'...need more of the streetrod crowd to get on board with the LS stuff.
The guys on the HAMB have given me a hard time for over ten years. When I first posted a picture of the car before I dropped the body on the rails back in about 2000 or 2001...they were all "grasping their pearls", first of all they didn't know what the engine was. I kept telling them, "hey it was from the wrecking yard and it fits"...how TRADITIONAL can you get, a real hot rodder gets as much power for the least money and improves his ride. Correct?? As far as the fuel injection...some of those guys just don't get it. They kinda give me a pass these days, I suppose they realize that I still drive the car I started building in 1998...and 90% of the HAMB guys either don't drive their cars much, have sold the car or never finish them anyway. I still enjoy that board and sneak in a post now & then just for fun.
Unforeseen problems?? None really, I spend quite a bit of time eyeballing and planning a project before I jump into it. I was a bit apprehensive about how it would run with the Victor and a stock LS 78mm TB, I hoped it wouldn't kill the low speed "cruising" drivability and it didn't. I guess the biggest problem...the stock four-piece hood is so damn heavy I have to wait for my son to come over to help me drop the hood on it, I can't manage that thing alone. Maybe I'll cruise around for a bit with no hood...the car seems to really screw up traffic in town as the locals try to figure out what the hell it is!!

Now, how long before you can show us some pics of this cool little adaptation you've come up with??
As for putting the hood on by yourself, be careful, them SOBs bite! I put mine on and got a finger where it shouldnt have been and it folded up and took some skin off.
Car looks great, cant wait to see the dyno numbers!
I guess I need to go into my personal archives and grab some build shots from 1999 through 2006 to put together another build thread. I was using 35mm film in those early days and everything has been digitized now. We have it so easy these days with phones that take nice images...cameras that produce awesome images and tablets (like I use now) that work really great for this stuff.
Where were you in 1999? More stuff coming in a future thread.
