Adding dual PWM fan control for the SPAL fans. Found a couple of new controllers off of EBAY and made up a bracket out of aluminum to mount them just to the right of the radiator.
Moving to PWM control allowed me to eliminate the fan relays making room inside the electrical panel.
Connector parts from Mouser, plus 10 gauge wire for the fan controller and 20 gauge wire for the PWM signal
The PWM connector has a goofy keyed slot. I can either choose to grind out the connector or to take out the pin. I chose to take out the pin
Re-routed some wiring and made the necessary changes to the ECM via HP tuners. Fired it up and it works freaking fantastic. Just idling and they turn on around 195 and the engine holds temp on the money. Can hardly hear them run!

Sourced a GM AC pressure switch and T for the #6 AC line. I need to take to Parks Automotive in Deforest to get the Freon sucked down and add the fitting and re-fill. The trinary will still control the compressor clutch but the AC pressure switch will allow me to ramp the fan speed up and down instead of cycling the fans every time the pressure rises and falls.

Swapped out the factory alternator and PS bracket for the KWIK bracket. This allows me to clock the PS pump 180 degrees from stock. I sent the stock pump to Turn One and had it re-worked to improve flow and pressure for the box I am running. They swapped out the inlet tube for a -10 an fitting. Easier to get in and out with this bracket.
I bought a reservoir from PSC, made a bracket and re-plumbed everything in Fragola lines and AN fittings. Notice that I am using the factory holes in the inner fender and minimized my hose routings. Also, this reservoir has separate returns for the box and hydroboost.
This reservoir has an internal filter and it made very well. Filled with Royal Purple fluid and bled according to Turn One instructions. Fired it up and it is super quiet. Need to get some miles on it to see how it all works out. Let’s hope this takes care of the annoying whining noise.

Looking forward to adding Dakota Digital DBW needed to add a clutch switch to disengage the cruise when depressing the clutch. Found a brake switch at the swap meet and made a bracket.
Mounted it in place of the rubber stop for the clutch pedal. Took a chunk of rubber and glued it to the head of the bolt.

LOL...not sure if I agree....but, what the heck! I'll take it! Like Red Green says...if the ladies don't find you handsome, at least let them find you handy!
Car heads to Parks to get the AC sucked out and the sensor screwed in and re-charged. Sucks that I have to do it again after just having the system filled, but that's hotrodding, I guess.
Car heads to Larry at ASSC Racing for some tuning in a few weeks. Thanks for the referral Ken. Looking forward to getting some of the drivability bugs worked out and seeing what it will put to the pavement. Not so concerned about the numbers, just want the bugs worked out!!!

Cruising down the road at 70 mph and all of a sudden, I lose power and get a strong whiff of fuel. I pull over and find that the fuel line had disconnected from the rail. Using the fuel rail adapter with a nut instead of the spring retainers for added security. HAHA...found the nut laying on the intake and the intake was flooded with fuel. Time to safety wire the line to the rail.

Wow. Terrifying. Glad you're ok.

Driveability is decent. Little surging going down the road at part throttle but it has not been fully tuned yet. The thing absolutely rips going down the road. Not sure if I would want less cam or not. After I get the tuning locked in,,,i will let you know

There are two types of those clips, the ones that have the plastic insides suck and are known to pop off!! I had a set of these when I was buying parts to add an E85 sensor to my fuel system, when I saw the plastic I was suspicious. Sure enough with a little searching I found that they're known for blowing off and have caused fires. I looked further and found these http://www.summitracing.com/newprodu...nnect-fittings I would seriously urge you to consider switching!

Finally got the GTO professionally tuned a few weeks back. Took it down to Nickey in Chicago and had Matt Peckham do his magic. Not only did he get the drivability ironed out, but managed to put down 460 HP and 443 FT-LB at the tires on pump fuel. My guess that equates to around 550 HP and 525 FT-LB at the crank.
I can not say enough about the people at Nickey. Stefano, Beth and Matt were awesome to work with and made you feel at home the minute you stepped into their shop. They got at it right away and Matt was very persistent to get it right. Unfortunately, that is more than I can say for ASSC. I was told 2 weeks at the end of April and after repeated attempts to contact them over several weeks, I took the advice from Calvin @ Parks Auto in Deforest and took it to Nickey. Nickey was on the ball from the moment I sent an e-mail to Stefano asking about getting the car in.

Had to make a run to FDL yesterday to have my buddy Al re-paint a few things on the GTO...stopped by the folks for a short visit on the way out of town and then ran home to get some things done.
Left home with a full tank and filled up and checked mileage when I got home. I almost fell over...Managed 29.2 MPG out of a 525+ HP engine in an old wreck of a car...with this new revelation, this is the most efficienct vehicle I have in the stable. Granted...I drove the car like a little old grandpa, but it shows the potential of This newer drive train.
