Default VSS...again

Sorry if this is a repost, couldn't find what I needed in search.
I have a 4wd 4L60E and LQ4 in a Range Rover.
The vss for the Rover is off the ABS sensors and is totally different than the LSx needs. It's at the bottom of this page:

After looking, it looks like SEN-4165 from Dakota Digital will work?

The PCM (GenII motor) needs 8,000ppm correct?
Looks like the magnets stick onto a driveshaft and then the sensor reads the magnets.

Look like it will work?

The Gen 3 PCM needs 4000 PPM.

I used the Advance Adapters VSS kit that is intended for their adapter and made it work with my setup.

Dakota replied, and said I need 128,000 pulse signal!
I will look at the AA one too, although I made my own adapter etc.

128k is the high resolution signal for ABS.

For the AA one I clamped the reluctor ring to the output shaft and hogged a hole in the side of my improvised adapter four years ago. Works perfectly.

You could use a JTR reluctor setup on your driveshaft yoke but it won't work if you shift into a gear reduction mode in the T-case as the output shaft is no longer spinning at the same speed as the transmissions shaft.

Wouldn't have the part number by chance would you?
My tuner said the PPM is set to 97,023 right now, for my gearing and tires etc.
I looked at the JTR one for a 12 bolt (IIRC).
I cant get to the tranny output, unless I drill and tap this

Then put the collar etc onto the spud shaft being made.
So maybe the driveshaft one is the way to go? When in low range, I suspect it wont want to change out of 1st gear though at a guess, with the much slower rotation?
I could try to make a 40 tooth(IIRC) wheel to tack onto the adapter shaft too, if the other stuff is a fortune etc.

all the Gen II - IV setups use 17 or 40 tooth reluctors and adjustment to relate to mileage is done in the tune. So inputs aren't ever "ppm" when OEM.

While the late model PCMs and their tunes might be capable of using a 4004ppm signal, such a signal was last used with hybrid speedo gear VSS assemblies, and 1001ppm was set by changing gears. More junk to wear out and a signal type outside your pcm / engine family by far.

If your ABS signal is the same type of signal (sine or square) as needed by the swapped PCM, I would try and use it, stepping it up or down in the tune or with a Dakota SGI-5.

Alternately, a sensor boss in your t-case adapted makes a lot of sense if the shaft inside has a surface that a reluctor can be pressed, adhered, or tacked onto. A 40 tooth reluctor from a 4l80e truck or 4l60e app. for smaller I.d. can be used and bored to match. Then set sensor depth.

that is exactly why it would work. Though it appears to be external, low res, neither ideal.

Without knowing the ID of it though, hard to tell where I could put it. A stock Chevy VSS isn't a problem to install. I can drill and tap the adapter housing for that no problem.
If nothing else, I could get a wheel CNC plasma cut for the teeth, although the splines would be a tricky deal. How thick does it "need" to be in your opinion?
