Don't Slaughter Me
My vote if I had one lol would be alum ls because of the faith I have in the engines , the simplicity of their design , the overwhelming aftermarket support as well as stock parts swaps from ls engines further up the food chain from the ls1 and my lack of knowledge of how the bmw engine compares for simplicity , thrifty pricing , and performance aftermarket.
The durability of the ls engines is another consideration , my current fleet consists of ls engines with 136k , 173k ,185k and 243k the 243k car is an m6 that has had a fair amount of bolt on mods starting at around 80k and it still rips these are non interference pushrod engines with timing chains not belts if you believe in K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid) I think the LS is going to win the simplicity vote
I've done a lot of research, and tallied the votes.
LS is in.
Deciding factors weren't what most suggested. I know about the LS engine support and excellent aftermarket and that was definitely taken into consideration. The transmission was actually the nail in the coffin, as the Getrag 420G is impossible to get parts for. I have a T56, just need to put it together. I will be parting out a BMW 4.4L M62tub44 if anyone knows someone who needs parts. have the wiring harness and all accessories.
