t56 viper tranny question
I bought a viper transmission that I plan to swap into a foxbody. I bought a t56 McLeod kit for the mustang that has the quick release on it that wont snap into the clutch cylinder for some reason. It snapped into a Camaro clutch cylinder no problem but that wont bolt up to the viper t56 for proprietary reasons (stupid). both use the quick release system from what I can tell but my application is not working. does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do? I would really appreciate since my project is at a standstill and I hate it when that happens...

Not sure what the McLeod one looks like, Pictures ?. Have you considered removing the F-Body Quick Release (knock pin out and remove) and try fitting it into the McLeod Throw Out Bearing ?
I modified a new F-Body by redrilling it to the correct clocking about 80* off, and had some re-enforcement spacers TIG'd on and made a spacer to work correctly with the Viper Mid plate and F-Body Input shaft.

Not sure if they are available as a stand alone piece.. would suggest you check with your local GM Dealer.. would suggest you post to see if anyone still has one that hasn't been chucked in the garbage can yet and pay the postage for one !?
I am sure many will offer to help if they have an old one laying around. Good luck on it tho..

It was 7 yrs ago when we did the clutch. Wasn't difficult though. Just measure shaft diameter & use an NPT die that's closest in diameter & thread it. Then, just choose fittings to get to male -4 AN. I remember an NPT female to NPT female coupling mounted on the male NPT shaft then an NPT male to -4 AN male nipple. Install an NPT to -4 AN male nipple @ clutch master cyl. & then connect braided hose w/ -4 AN female connectors, one end @ clutch master & other end @ slave.
You may even want to extend the shaft @ the slave cylinder so that is reaches outside of the bell housing. Just add a coupling & long nipple to do so.

As long as your doing this, you may as well add a Remote Bleeder... Speedway sells the kit directly or use eBay. I use one on my Chevelle..
