67 cougar AWD conversion
I am also builing my wife a 1950 chevy 3100 with a 4.8, 4L60, and an AWD setup. Its the AWD part that is giving me a headache.
Having a full frame allows me the ability to build a complete tube chassis. I plan to run the Bravada ront end and graft that frame onto the tube chassis. I can sink it as low and/or and high as I need to get the right ride height.
My question for you is how you are going to mount the coilovers in the controol arms? I was hoping to run airride on this thing, and I have no idea how to get it to fit.
Best of luck
Dima

I'm using a 32 spline input shaft in the t-case so I can put it behind a 4L80e. (Bought 2 shafts because my buddy is building a similar truck)

I'm seriously considering making my 68 Firebird AWD too.
You'll also need an adapter to bolt the t case to the trans like this:

I think someone had them cheaper though. I've got a lathe, so I'm just going to make an adapter.
