Any luck finding a mock-up engine to work with? Definitely looking forward to more progress and updates on this thing!

Default Mock up block

I picked up an LS mock up block used for $350. Also got set of corvette wheels. Fir perfect in front with 275/40-17 tires. So....selling 9 inch rear axle and putting in C4 corvette IRS.

Sorry about the rotation issue with photos. The 275 tires on corvette rims fit better than the 245 tires did on ford suspension.

This thread is GREAT!!!! I am also a rockcrawler builder that is heading into the hotrod arena. I usually build tube chassis/comp style buggies and full body rigs *current build is a FJ40 on 42's, small block, dana 60's, 4 links,...)

I am also builing my wife a 1950 chevy 3100 with a 4.8, 4L60, and an AWD setup. Its the AWD part that is giving me a headache.

Having a full frame allows me the ability to build a complete tube chassis. I plan to run the Bravada ront end and graft that frame onto the tube chassis. I can sink it as low and/or and high as I need to get the right ride height.

My question for you is how you are going to mount the coilovers in the controol arms? I was hoping to run airride on this thing, and I have no idea how to get it to fit.

Best of luck
Dima

is that output shaft cut down to 4l60 size? i am pretty sure the syty guys stopped doing that because they shear off real easy with power. they started cutting the transfer case input shaft bigger instead.

yes. You are right on both counts. I'm re-thinking choosing the cheaper route. I need to pony the big bucks to get the special t/c 32 spline input shafts that will match the th400/4l80e Trans.

Presents from summit racing showed up. Im gonna run a Howe 2 to 1 steering quickener. I was gonna look for a quick ratio corvette box, but forgot i had picked up a quickener some years ago. The sock bravada box is about 3.5-4 turns lock to lock, so i think this will work for my purposes.

Nice build. I'm putting a 54 GMC on a 94 Bravada chassis.

I'm using a 32 spline input shaft in the t-case so I can put it behind a 4L80e. (Bought 2 shafts because my buddy is building a similar truck)

I'm seriously considering making my 68 Firebird AWD too.

I need to buy a 32 spline transfer case shaft. I recently picked up a couple gt35 size turbos, wastegates, blowoff valve, 80# injectors and dual fuel pumps. Definitely gonna need the bigger input shaft

I got it from Speed Inc. They don't currently have it listed on ebay, nor their website, so you'll probably have to call them.

You'll also need an adapter to bolt the t case to the trans like this:

http://www.sytyperformance.com/index...hk=1&Itemid=26

I think someone had them cheaper though. I've got a lathe, so I'm just going to make an adapter.
