LSX Miata engine swappers inside... Hope the mods will keep this thread in here. Better chance of visibility as opposed to the Racers' Lounge.
There is the possibility of a V8 Miata meet, most likely @ Road Atlanta in April of 2015. If you want to participate, can send me a PM & or go to V8 Miata website. There is a sticky atop the general V8 discussion section where you can vote for a specific location &/or discuss a possible meet.
Atlanta isn't the only possibility, but Road Atlanta is awfully attractive & the meet coincides w/ an event called The Mitty in April. It's an 800 mile trip one way for us, but well worth the trip.

I know I'm new to the "group", hell my car isn't even on the road yet, but I would love to meet some of you guys at the Mitty. I'm pushing to get her on the road by April anyway, so this would be an additional incentive. Plus, that's only about a 2.5 hr drive from us.
Hope it gets finished in time so you can go. I know that there is a discussion going on w/ Flying Miata to sponsor a corral for us @ Road Atlanta.
I don't know much about "The Mitty," but looks like all types of cars are welcome that weekend. So, any Tech members that want to go to Road Atlanta in late April 2015 can search "The Mitty, Road Atlanta" for details.

Flip86 I would have driven all day to see a completed car when I was building mine! You will find a gold mine of info and damn why didn't I think of that moments if you come. Probably be at least 10 cars there so yeah totally worth the trip.

To our knowledge the most V8 Miatas gathered in one place is shown in this pic. We'd not only like to beat it, but want to start an annual meet. As noted, we plan for the locals to take us out for spirited drives. So, it's not just a sit on your a$$ next to the car meet. There's also a lot to see @ The Mitty race.
I know that many of you are on the V8 Miata site & already know of the event. We are also looking for the people like me who may not spend much time outside of LS1Tech & haven't heard of the event. All V8 Miatas are welcome. I'd even say that if you have any engine swapped Miata, you'd be welcome.

It seems like the best day to meet up would be Saturday to have the most guys there. Lots going on that day so do you think it would be better to do the cruise in the morning rather than the afternoon or evening?

Great Road & Track article about "Tail of the Dragon" Read this article in a recent copy of R&T. Article's about how the author follows a local, "The King," through the Dragon in a 458. Great info. from locals regarding the best times to drive the Dragon & about this guy, "The King," & his RX7.

Am told that a couple of V8 swap kit companies will be sending out emails to their customers' regarding "The Mitty" meet, after the Holidays. So stay tuned for updates. We are expecting several more.

17 Confirmed & 11 working to get there. I know there are more here lurking. If your concern is driving down alone, you can convoy w/ us. We plan to go 75 S. out of C'bus, Ohio. Can change to 77 S. to meet up, but, prefer 75 in order to avoid the WV mountains.
