Man i could have sworn these swaps were so common that by now, what at least 10 years now, that the companies would have gotten it right by now. Not trying to knock any companies but damn. Since im about to do my 2nd ls swap i may as well be prepared to build more motor mounts just like i did the first time.

[QUOTE=JJ_TURBO;18601741]
And what team z said about my other cross member, that had nothing to do with the transmission placement as the engine mounts are solid so the transmission had very little play (up & down movement) like 1/2 inch at most..[QUOTE]

We already new this.....

There was another 3 guys that said there 4l60 would not fit without making new mounts..

I email teamz last week and they said a 4l60 trans should work but i would need to make a trans. crossmember.

Yeah, 1/2", if that much...and that's at the tail shaft.

This picture is exactly why and exactly where I hammered my firewall with the LS on the Maximum Motorsports 2.1 conversion k member (for 4.6L in a fox) and my custom motor mounts. After hammering the firewall I was able to move the engine back a little farther as well, about an additional .660".

I think I can lower the engine an inch more that probably will give it another 1mm from firewall.. lol
Then I can move it forward 1/4" and that should do it, but first I gotta get the plates to make the mounts..

welp I called today to try and send mine back, they still want a 20% restocking fee even though it doesn't fit (and even though I was told it would fit regardless of what I came across on the internet) which is bullshit.

hey guys just make sure you have the intake you might want to use. I have a stock LS3 and yesterday went to put on my new Fast 102 and was having problems fitting. Its over a 1" longer in the back where the back runner curves by the passenger side. Plus I had to shorten the nipple for the brake hose because it also was hitting. Nothing a big hammer and a little grinding of the corner on the Fast (took me hours to convince myself to grind my new intake)

so to be sure im understanding. only guys running electronic trans are running in to issues with the new TeamZ kmember? I'm planning on running a glide and a TeamZ k-member. want to be sure it's isolated to 60e/80e transmissions?

I don't think that was the case but I don't have a Team Z.

However, why go through the potential pain?

Yes, 60e/80e and T56, maybe others but they claim the TH350/400/PG are good to go.

I knew I was gonna have trouble sending it back so I just decided to make my own mounts.. but its a pita.. waiting on plates to start on them...

Y have a turbo 400 on my garage and its next to a 60e.. I just don't have the time to have try it out to see if it would work but I doubt it.. I'll try to take pictures of the two next to each other...

Did you read the whole thread? If you do you will see, no it doesn't really fit. I don't care how you spend your money, but if you go Team Z, plan to build motor mounts at a minimum, and probably some form of trans cross member mods as well.

edit - sorry, the info to which I was referring is apparently is not in this thread, it's the other Team Z threads.

yea. i was fixin to say, i read this thread a few times and was trying to figure out how it related to anything besides the "e" transmissions. i dont see how they wouldve went from an older style design that seemed to work well, to one thats suddenly requiring extra fab work for motor mounts. i hope teamz addresses this issue. im going to need to contact them for sure. who would u recommend? AJE or upr?

ill search for the other thread. my plan is a glide or th400. i assumed id have to build a cross member anyways.

Does anyone know if the z k member will work with a ford c4 transmission?
