Ls1 to LQ4
Ls1 to LQ4 ive looked around and havnt found these answers .want to swap in a lq4 to a ls1 fbody. I dont have the f body wiring harness, can i use the truck harness? what changes would be needed? also can i use the truck accessories ? i know they stick out 1/2 farther but i dont have the ls1 stuff to swap..... thanks

Just got done with mine. I believe you have to use the f body wiring harness. What transmission is it bolting up to? May have to tap the back of the block for the transmission. Need an f body flex plate if its a 4l60e. Also may have to relocate the alternator to the bottom of the block, there is only one hole to tap. Will definitely need an fbody oil pan, pickup tube, and windage tray. Other than that it was a fairly straight forward swap.
Also make sure to check on the year of the LQ4 block itself. The 99-00 will not work as it has a different sized crank and won't bolt up to any f body transmission.

Truck acessories probably won't fit under the hood. Almost positive youll nneed an LS1 intake because the truck intake is taller and will probably hit the hood, but if you use the LS1 intake, it wont work with the truck accessories without some modifications. Your best bet would be to find f body FEAD.
