5.3L Harness rework
I was planning on having Bill from BP rework my harness but its looking like he isn't going to be doing that service anymore. Anyone else have good luck with another vendor?
thanks
Secondly, we also suspended the rewires because of the minor price differences between the rewire and a new harness once you sell your old harness. Here are the numbers for what Im referring to.
Usually you can get this out of these harnesses-
100-150 out of a used Gen III Vortec Harness.
250-400 out of a Camaro/Firebird Harness.
150-200 out of a Gen IV Vortec Harness.
250-400 out of a Gen IV Car Harness.
Our rewire services were priced at $250 and $350 depending on which service you chose.
So if you sell your Gen III Vortec Harness and get say $150 out of it. Put that with the $250 you would have spent for a base rewire and you are at a total of $400.
Our New Base DBC Gen III Engine Harnesses are $500. Just 100-150 more and you can get a new engine harness with a 5ft trunk line, with a grommet installed, GM Color Codes, and the harnesses are routed from the back of the intake forward like the Camaro/Firebird Harnesses.
When you rewire unless you splice 50+ wires you are stuck to the factory lengths and routings. Which for most are less than optimal.
Lastly, on our website and in our ebay store we offer our DIY harness mod kits starting at just $75. These take almost all of the guess work out of rewiring your own harness and come with a labeled fuseblock assembly, OBD II Port Pigtail with plenty of wire, harness tape, and a set of general instructions. (it is impossible to make a specific set of instructions for all of the different applications out there.)
