It does not matter how cheap it is if you can not get lines connected to the compressor

VA has alot of different lines and adapters available. WIth my lowmount ac compressor, VA offers 90* titefit fittings to clear my subframe. I was starting to get worried about clearing the subfrme until I fount these. (page 74 of their catalog)

366101 #8 TiteFit 90 0 A/C Fitting

I saw those fittings. I am curious to see what they say works. I do believe there will not be enough room for those to fit

I have the Alan Grove fittings and there is very little room left to get any fittings in for AC, so I'm switching to the CBM fittings for some additional clearance.

I tried both styles of compressor heads and they both have unique issues due to how my headers are made.

Finally got mine mounted. I was able to get a compressor off a 99 Geo Metro with a 4 rib pulley. The compressor is a quite a bit shorter than the SD5. I'll be getting rid of a set of Dirty Dingo slider mounts next. I think I can go back to standard mounts without notching the frame on a Chevelle which I've been trying to avoid.

I'll be going with the DD Muscle Mounts, since my mounts have already been located 2 inches back, I should be able to move the mounts all the way back and have plenty of room behind the compressor.

If anyone cares, don't try the tite-fit fittings from VA, no way it'll work. Maybe someone will provide a more optimal location for the upper mount or a fitting that can squeeze in there.

With the stock GM frame mounts and the Dirty Dingo sliders.......I didn't have the room for the A/C compressor.......I made my own mounts to get the room I needed.......Here are some pic's to show how it worked out....Start to finish......Again....this is for LSA applications where the compressor can't go up top......

john 67 thanks for the pic's. I have seen your setup before and I like it. I'm not sure if it would work with my compressor. You have the Sanden 508 I've got the SD-7B10 unit.

kwhizz nice machine work on your setup. Originally I was going to run a SBC in my car when I ordered my TCI clip. I really hate to cut those nice TIG welded frame stands off.

I also find it interesting that on both of your blocks you have a rear/third bolt boss on your block for the lower bracket. My motor is an '04 Vette and FED and does not have that rear most hole or even a boss there.

I really want to have the motor in the 1" setback from the "STD SBC" location and down low. I have the room up top I just don't like the look of the top mount brackets. It's just me being hard headed.

Well after modifying this Alan Grove mount to fit an Sanden SD7 I think I am just going to high mount my a/c compressor after all so its up for sale. I intended to use it with this manifold. I cant see why it would not work.
