Was there a fire ring installed on the inlet of the wastegate?

Yeah, I made sure it sealed good before I actually installed it. TiAL says its normal for air to leak around the stem but to me it just seems like that pressure would help open the valve. Obviously they have been around for a long time and make an excellent product so maybe I am thinking too far into it.

Just to follow up on my boost issues, turns out it's the wastegate opening whenever it feels like. I dumped it to atmosphere for testing and I can hear it cracking open as soon as 1 psi sometimes but other times on the same trip it stays closed until 4. And today I installed a SS bumper to have an opening for the intercooler. And a few pics since I got the interior buttoned up.

Thanks man I really like the look. The new 11 psi spring should be here tomorrow and will hopefully fix it all.

That should help it out. Ive got a 01 ecsb with magnum 76mm on it. Its amazing how much boost wakes these motors up. Its got an ots comp cam in it too. Not really a boost cam but a baby na cam for a 6.0. I love it so far. Can u take a quick pick of the heat shirld ucame up with for the filter assembly?

I changed the wastegate spring and all of my problems went away. For anyone tracking a similar problem.

Before I create a classified thread I wanted to see if anyone following this build would be interested in the entire T56 setup (trans, clutch/flywheel, shifter with shaft and cup holder boot, crossmember, and pedal assembly). I'm looking to go 4L80E. I'd prefer if someone was closer to central Texas and I'd like to get $3000 for everything listed or partial 4L80e trade.

The T56 to 4L80E swap is complete
Here is a few pics of the swap also. I went with a QuickSilver shifter for the short "throw" to fit the tiny space and because it was smooth. This was also my first run with making fiberglass so the next one should be better.
