Dakota digital vss wiring question.
You can have the ecu flashed for the correct ppm from the DD VSS but don't necessarily have to. I've run both ways with a manual trans and it cured stalling issues.
The ppm rate is not high enough to provide a stable signal for the GM DBW cruise control to work.

IIRC the DD pass thru VSS has a black and grey wire.
The ecu has a VSS low, and VSS hi (ecu pins 20, 21?).
Just wire the VSS black lead to the vss low, and grey to vss hi.
Worked for me.

Throw away the "box".
Wire the DD VSS directly to the ecu as directed in my last post.
If you ever want to run an electric speedo, most can run off the stock ecu speedo output.

If the ecu is looking for the stock 40 tooth reluctor, the DD VSS will cause it to read very low, like 5mph on the hiway. That fixes the stalling issues so you can leave it that way. You can reprogram the ecu to be read correctly, but doesn't really matter.
The opposite is not true Strange things happen when the ecu reads about 165mph. Apparently there's a speed limiter built in. It's kinda shocking when you hit it at about 20 mph.
