Made the fuel pump mount fancy.

Bought Slosh Tubz firewall filler panels.

Made a pocket to hold the title and registration. Still have to cut the top off.

It will go inside this glovebox door.

Got some stuff to do for this 9 inch to fit, lol.

Axle tubes and housing ends for said 9 inch.

Battery relocation kit for when I mount the battery under the bed.

Thanks guys! I'm just trying to save up to money to keep buying parts/tools to finish it. There is an AHP AlphaTIG 200X on its way to me. It left Cali the beginning of this week and it should be here Monday. The next two tools I'm saving up for are a rear end shortening jig and a tubing bender.

Would like to hear your thoughts on the AlphaTIG. I am leaning that direction to purchase one, only negative I have heard so far is the torch is not real good and most have replaced it with a better quality torch.

A lot of people don't like the pedal either. It is a pretty goofy pedal. I think I might end up replacing the pedal with an SSC pedal and getting a good torch. I still see it as a win, $1,000 or so into a welder and has the same features as the big names.

I thought I'd hate the pedal, but it really ain't that bad.

a new torch is needed for sure though

Interested in welder as well. Been thinking about buying this one. What material do you plan on welding with this? Thanks

Mostly mild with the ocassional visit from stainless, chromoly, and aluminum. It's first job is going to be building a tranny crossmember/chassis brace.

i'm currently looking for a used torch cooler. it can crank out 200A for long duty cycles, but holy **** the torch gets roasting. Ive taken to cooling with an air nozzle in between passes.

i read that ahp is coming out with a 220v mig thats spool gun ready. all the fancy stuff like pulse and profile too.

So we get this far, welded a few spots on the front of the rocker...and ran out of wire. Went to Lowe's to get more wire and they only had .030. Had .025 in the welder and somehow I don't have .030 tips.

oh hey when you order wire order some esab easy grind. i was keptical at first, but it makes body work a breeze when the weld is the same hardness as the base metal.

it's totally worth the cash for how much body work you're doing

From what I found online its pretty close to the same as Lincoln's wire that you can get at Home Depot or Lowe's. I bought a bunch of that.

EDIT: Also pretty much everything except the cab corner is welded in on the top side. Then it will be time to slide under it and start the overhead welding...my favorite

So I set the welder up after getting a cart from Harbor Frieght. This is what I came up with. Some are 40 amps, no pulse, some with pulse. Then a few 80 amp pulls with pulse. This was with one of the factory nozzles with 25 cfh, 3/32 tungsten, and 3/32 filler cause I accidentally bought 2 lbs of it instead of 1 lb of 1/16 and 1 lb of 3/32.

you are on your way! if I can add just a couple tips that really helped me get started without sounding like a know it all...wire wheel everything. bright shiny metal. and then acetone everything. even acetone your filler rods. get a $30 harbor freight belt sander and use it with a cordless drill as a dedicated tungsten sharpener. dont use it for anything but tungstens.

and get a gas lens kit...night and day difference! good luck and always be burnin!

You don't sound like a know it all at all. Just constructive criticism. I plan on doing all of that, I have the harbor freight belt sander from a previous project just need to change belts. Only reason I didn't clean this piece was because the welder has been sitting on the floor doing nothing for a almost a week. I was chompin at the bit to lay down anything, haha! I was actually looking for a gas lens kit right after that post. And I also need a medium length back cap, mine only came with the long back cap and the one that literally looks like a bottle cap.
