Default what is interchangeable with the lm7

I have a lm7 from a 2004 avalanche. I bought it with no accessories. And i bought a intake fuel rail injectors and harness of ebay from a 2005 tahoe. The tb is dbw. Can i convert that to dbc? Or is it better to buy the pedal and pcm? If so what pedal and pcm are compatible?

You can do about anything for acessories on front of motor. truck stuff easier to find. If switching to car stuff change balancer to car as well. the DBW throttle is relative easy to do. get the pedal/ tach box & short wiring harness for 05 tahoe, pcm as well. it should match each other to make easier install. LT1Swap.com has wiring info to harness yourself. He also programs pcm for you. I used him & he had pcm back less than a week $75 programed. You may want to run electric fan(up to you).

To convert to cable, you'll probably want the earlier 411 ecu and a new harness.
To keep DBW, you'll need pedal, TAC, and ecu, preferably from the same vehicle. 03-05 stuff is all pretty similar.

You may also want an older intake if converting to DBC. The older intake will have the nutserts for the throttle cable bracket and maybe the bracket too. Also in 2003, they changed the location of the pvc tube from the throttle body to the intake right behind the old location and they both wont fit. You can remove the one from the TB, or finding a DBC throttle body from a 2003 -up van is an option.

Isnt the 01 tahoe drive by cable? If it is, you just connect your throttle body with cable to pedal. No tach box/pedal needed. You need to figure out which way you want to go. you need DBW harness, DBW throttle body, tach box with wiring & gas pedal for all 05 tahoe/silverado. If you go with DBW throttle. That whats needed to run your ebay truck intake fuel injectors you bought.

Default decision made

I decided to try my luck with the dbw. I bought the (from a 2004 yukon 5.3) intake, pcm, fuel rails, harness, pedal, tach module and throttle body, for 200 bucks i didnt think it was a bad idea especially if it all works fine.

I thought it was a big deal to hook up to. But in reality goes easy. just find a place to put tach box was harder than connecting wires. I did it on my buick & dont mind it.

Good find at that price. You'll be happy with the DBW.

The DBW setup is cleaner and easier to do, especially if you decide to add in the cruise control option.

No cables running around, all electrically controlled thru the wiring harness.

Take your time, if you are doing this for a cruiser, go ahead and wire up electrical fans instead of an engine driven fan. You will actually get better fuel mileage and the AC will be more reliable at low speeds.

Enjoy your setup, as it sounds like you are on the right path to having a ton of fun with LS power and reliability.
