Default Another 69 Camaro LS3 swap

Well, here we go. Here it is before, with the 502 450hp crate motor and T400. They are gone and a 2010 LS3 W/T6060 is sitting in the garage floor. Good by and good riddance! No more pumping the gas to start, pumping the gas to keep running till warmed up. Hello EASY starts, LOTS better gas mileage, less weight) The HP should be in the same ball park as I have a 235 TS cam/pushrods/springs to go in it. Then maybe a LITTLE nitrous. It already has a 9" so I should be good to go there.

I just got my AR SS headers, TS 235/239 cam/pushrods/springs, DD motor plates, A/C comp and brackets, alternator brackets. Tossed around having my harness re-wired but ended up getting PSI harness. Pulled the manifolds, stock harness, and accessories off earlier this week.

I could use some input on a clutch though, I don't have a clue which one to get, and, will I need a different flywheel? I plan to install a 150hp nitrous kit. Not sure if a non-puck clutch will hold up.

Nice car! The LS3 & TR6060 is going to transform your car into a very nice driver with another 50 HP/1000 RPM and the car will be 200 lbs lighter.

I highly recommend the Holley 302-2 pan. Its only 1.25" deep at the front. And I consider it the best, as it's the only one that has the 2 lower bell housing provisions. This pan allows the lowest engine position. And the lower your engine, the better the front u-joint angle and trans tunnel clearance.

As for the DD mounts, what oil pan do they recommend? As I cancelled the Hedman mount the would raise the engine enough to clear the H3 oil pan (.75" deeper than the Holley). This is is for a long time friend's 1968 Chevelle that I'm 75% finished installing a crate LS3, Cammotion 220/234/.578/.561/115lsa cam and Stainless Works 1.75 headers with a 4L60e.

From experience, stay with a steel flywheel. Had an aluminum flywheel in my 418 C5, after putting up with the poor drive ability & neutral gear rattle, I swapped the stock one back in. I have the Luk Pro Gold since 2011, and it drives like stock. But if your using drag radials, then you need something like the Fidanza http://www.summitracing.com/int/part...98572/overview

Had some health issues and it put me WAY behind schedule. Anyway, I got work on the car some lately. Split the motor and tranny apart and started on the cam swap. I went with the TSP 239 3 bolt cam. Should get the timing chain later this week. I thought I ordered it with the sprocket but I guess not.

Spring compressor tool worked perfectly

Half the springs changed on drivers side
