Another 69 Camaro LS3 swap
I could use some input on a clutch though, I don't have a clue which one to get, and, will I need a different flywheel? I plan to install a 150hp nitrous kit. Not sure if a non-puck clutch will hold up.
I highly recommend the Holley 302-2 pan. Its only 1.25" deep at the front. And I consider it the best, as it's the only one that has the 2 lower bell housing provisions. This pan allows the lowest engine position. And the lower your engine, the better the front u-joint angle and trans tunnel clearance.
As for the DD mounts, what oil pan do they recommend? As I cancelled the Hedman mount the would raise the engine enough to clear the H3 oil pan (.75" deeper than the Holley). This is is for a long time friend's 1968 Chevelle that I'm 75% finished installing a crate LS3, Cammotion 220/234/.578/.561/115lsa cam and Stainless Works 1.75 headers with a 4L60e.
From experience, stay with a steel flywheel. Had an aluminum flywheel in my 418 C5, after putting up with the poor drive ability & neutral gear rattle, I swapped the stock one back in. I have the Luk Pro Gold since 2011, and it drives like stock. But if your using drag radials, then you need something like the Fidanza http://www.summitracing.com/int/part...98572/overview
