Rat rod lq4/4l80e. Need shifts help

Rat rod lq4/4l80e. Need shifts help Hey guys I got a rat rod project build for my father. It's a 96 gmc Sonoma frame I got a lq4/4l80e set up from a 2001 chevy pickup. An the cab is a 1942
Ford cab. Going to use the somona steering column it has a shifter on the column. my father wants a floor shifter, will any shifter work with the 4l80e transmission? Don't want to buy a new one since its a rat rod to us it used parts that u can get an make want. Then buying new. An a one off type build.

I believe 700r4 shifter works with a 4L60E cause they are same tranny other than one computor controled. I would think same for 4L80E. Somebody may chime in that knows for sure.

Was just told I could build a shifter that mounts the the tranny an use a rod to shift with. R have to find a stock shifter that has the same shift patten .... Don't know about this info 100% yet tho. Just one guy has said this
