I pressure washed the motor and stripped it down more. *note* when pressure washing use a raincoat or go shirtless... I was soaking wet and semi oily.

Motor had some piston slap so I'll be sending it off to a machine shop. Not sure if I want to bore it over .030 or bore it to 5.7.. I'll see the price difference. I saw some 317 heads on here I might pick them up.

just do .030 no need to go wild. put some flat tops in it. oh you will get into tub easier than motor so go with it. You have no garage other than shed?

Little update: decided to paint the valve covers

Chevy orange, going to paint just the block orange too...

The block is in the back of the truck, tomorrow I'll take it to the machinist to get bored .030 over. I'll get some non forged pistons.. sine I'm not thinking anything too high of hp, just 550whp ish. And arp rod studs.
Today I bought some 317 heads, oh and my back ordered springs should be here tomorrow.

Hopefully i have pics soon of the progress.
Bought a nice 12 bolt rear 3 days ago for $100 on Craigslist,, that will be on the back burner for awhile because when i install the rear... after i put in the motor,, im going to:
install 12 bolt

Small update: block still at machinist. I got my 317 heads need to also bring them to the machinist. Was poking around forums. I think I'm going to order the comp cams bearing trunnion upgrades for the rockers.
I ordered 8 coil packs, only needed 2 but they are cheap. In the meantime I have been cleaning up the parts I have.

If I were to do this process again I probably wouldn't have gotten a complete pulled out motor, as I don't trust used stuff if it's going in my vehicles so I've replaced about all of it.

WOW...that's a pretty bad a$$ E.T. for a full size 4-door dually...

I've seem them in all different places...a lot of guys like to put them inside...I didn't have enough harness to do that, and I didn't want to anyway.

I was in such a hurry to drive mine, I just l tied it to the inner fender well. (all the factory truck apps are mounted under the hood)

I plan on using a ECM bracket from an S-10 like I did on my 5.3 powered Chevelle wagon. I have one purchased, just have to mount it.
