Motor had some piston slap so I'll be sending it off to a machine shop. Not sure if I want to bore it over .030 or bore it to 5.7.. I'll see the price difference. I saw some 317 heads on here I might pick them up.
Chevy orange, going to paint just the block orange too...
The block is in the back of the truck, tomorrow I'll take it to the machinist to get bored .030 over. I'll get some non forged pistons.. sine I'm not thinking anything too high of hp, just 550whp ish. And arp rod studs.
Today I bought some 317 heads, oh and my back ordered springs should be here tomorrow.
Bought a nice 12 bolt rear 3 days ago for $100 on Craigslist,, that will be on the back burner for awhile because when i install the rear... after i put in the motor,, im going to:
install 12 bolt
new posi
buy a complete airbag/4 link suspension and have it installed. the one i see is 1699 for 4 link all 4 bags, compressor tank etc etc
I been cleaning/painting up stuff. My daughter picked a darker blue she liked so block, calve covers, valley pan are blue. pulleys are black as well steering pump, homemade computor bracket/ fusebox holder. painted stained heads, altenator & bracket aluminum silver. Yet to do oil pan in aluminum color. Drilled tapped port on oil pan piece for sender. drilling holes in water pump for steam line and temp sender.
painted holley ac bracket /heads aluminum color, yet to do oil pan.
I ordered 8 coil packs, only needed 2 but they are cheap. In the meantime I have been cleaning up the parts I have.
If I were to do this process again I probably wouldn't have gotten a complete pulled out motor, as I don't trust used stuff if it's going in my vehicles so I've replaced about all of it.

Oh and I sent off the harness to get modified,, re loomed and fusebox added, egr delete etc
WOW...that's a pretty bad a$$ E.T. for a full size 4-door dually...
I've seem them in all different places...a lot of guys like to put them inside...I didn't have enough harness to do that, and I didn't want to anyway.
I was in such a hurry to drive mine, I just l tied it to the inner fender well. (all the factory truck apps are mounted under the hood)
I plan on using a ECM bracket from an S-10 like I did on my 5.3 powered Chevelle wagon. I have one purchased, just have to mount it.
sorry if i missed it. And tell your daughter she has a good taste for colors
