The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time

Since I got most of one side done last night I was able to weigh the stock vs. aftermarket parts.
Here it is:
QA1 front shock assembly with 450lbs springs = 9.8lbs
3" belltech drop spring and tube shock = 13.8lbs
- Thats 4lbs a corner not bad. Total = 8lbs front end weight reduction from swapping to QA1s.
Wilwood 12.2" rotor, Hat, Hub and bearings = 14.2lbs
Stock rotor with bearings = 19.6lbs
- 5.4lbs a corner of rotating mass. Thats big! so a total of 10.8lbs
Now I know these numbers seem small. But when you think about it. From what I gather on the net. The alum block LS2 only seems to weigh about 50lbs more then the cast iron 2.8 I pulled out. With these couple mods I practically negated the difference. Pretty impressive. I also wish that my 10 bolt would have lasted a little longer at the track, so I could have narrowed down my 60ft times a bit more, and then compare with the new front end stuffs. But none such luck.
Im ordering the brake lines today! Hopefully I will have the passenger side done by the time the hoses get here and I can let you all know how these brakes feel!
When the brake lines come in I will weigh the difference in weigh of the static brake components (calipers brackets and such)

Not much to update. had a Pretty bzy weekend with the Mrs. Got the passenger side apart. Coil over installed. spindle modified and reinstalled. and rotor assembled. Now Just need to pack the bearings and button everything up. Brake hoses should be here tues.
Also hoping the QA1's settle another 1/2 inch.... This little **** is still sitting nose high. I dont get it. Everyone I see with this set up is burried. Mine sits like a tail dragger...
