Default 1968 ls swap engine and transmission mounts

starting to order parts and need a little more help.

1968 Camaro currently with stock subframe.
LQ9 with LS3 upper and the front converted over to car style setup with Holley brackets. Car also has a factor stearing box that i will swap out with a bester ratio box. Motor will be backed by a 4L60 (monster transmission)
Now the question. I have been reading build threads trying to find out what engine mounts work best with what crossmembers to hit the right angle and clearance.
i see a lot of Dirty D sliders being used but no references to what crossmember was used. i Called them and could not get them to recommend one.
then i've seen a lot of posts about BMR crossmembers but when i call them they could not recommend engine mounts.
Also while I'm asking can anyone point out the advantages or disadvantages of front vs rear mounted rack and pinions. say Speedtech vs. ArtM

If you want to mount the engine in same location to be able to use stock type tranny mounts go with car shop 1 inch set back plates. These are the ones I used and I used a stock th400 tranny xmember. But I am using a th400 tranny too. You can modify it some to work with the 4l60 as their dimensions are similar. But honestly there are so many different routes to go with on these first gen Camaros now days. Which ever route you go try and get all their components to reduce bad fitment. And as far as the rack and pinion options Id go with neither of those companys. Go check out Smith Racecraft rack conversion and/or TRZ. Better quality by far.

The Hooker 1st-gen LS swap engine mounting brackets and transmission crossmembers are the only such components specifically designed to work together to allow you to achieve optimized U-joint working angles, a low center of gravity and maximum exhaust system ground clearance under the transmission crossmember. There are specific crossmembers for 4L60, T56 and 4L80 transmissions. If there's anything you would like to know about the set-up, just send me a PM and I'll be glad to answer any of your questions to help you decide if they will help you achieve what you're after.
