Truck PS pump work with C4 rack? Hey all! Hope I don't get slammed for this but will an 06 L33 5.3 power steering pump work with a 96 C4 steering rack? Been searching but can't still figure it out.

I'm using an 02 truck pump with an 84 C4 rack. It works perfectly as far as steering effort and such.
However, over the last couple weeks of it sitting in the garage it appears that my freshly rebuild rack is leaking. I did some research online and the best I can tell, both systems are limited to a pump pressure of 1250psi so it shouldn't have been the pump that caused the problem.

So my rack has some strange leaks so I decided to do a little bit further research on the subject. What I found is that the truck pump has a much greater flow rate GPM than what the original c4 vette pump had. Something like 2 gpm for the vette and 3.6 for the truck. This can apparently cause all sorts of problems with the rack. Turn one makes outlet fitting for the pump that will adjust the gpm to the correct rate for the rack. I am going to call them tomorrow and get one coming. Then I will need to have my rack rebuilt again because I believe the excess flow may have already pushed a seal out.
I spoke with Jeff at Turn-one yesterday. I told him exactly what parts I was using and that my rack started leaking. He said that my problem was probably an inferior rebuild on the rack and not an over pressure or over volume problem. With my rack the steering effort is perfect so that is an indication of proper flow. I’m going to send him my rack and have him rebuilt it again, hopefully this time it will last more than 100 miles. I will update again when I get some time on it.
Well I have my rack back from Turn One. It works and is not leaking after maybe 150 miles. They told me to keep an eye on temperatures, not to let it exceed 275°F as that will burn up the seals. I don't have a cooler installed yet and my temperatures generally run less than 180°F after a half to an hour of driving so I should be good to go. I am going to install a cooler this winter. Also running redline synthetic PS fluid.
