Default TKO VSS - Wiring Directly to E38 PCM

So, my LGT-700 (same as a TKO-600) has the 12 pulse reluctor and I bought the Mustang sensor and just hooked it up to the E-38 ECM. Two wires and there was no apparent polarity. I have no idea if this is doing what it should or if there is scaling that should be done. Is it as simple as a direct hookup?

Thanks.

Bob,

The T56 uses a 17 tooth wheel, while the automatics used a 40 tooth wheel. With your EFI Live, you should be able to tell the ECU the number of teeth on the reluctor, gear ratio, and tire height. The VSS isn't as critical for manual cars as it is for automatic cars, for obvious reasons. As I understand it, for manual cars it was there to signal the IAC to stay open a little as you come to a stop. On my GTO I do not have a VSS hooked up and on occasion the engine will die as I come to a stop.
