Progress. Somehow when I was finishing up the mounts my tip got messed up so the welds look really like **** in a few areas.

 

I can be down there with about two days notice to get the 65 you have been working on with a truck and trailer.

Now that summer finals are over I'm going to try and get some more work done before fall semester starts. We're having a big BBQ/open shop/car show this weekend at the shop so I've been cleaning and reorganizing cars/tools etc.

Finished the trans tunnel for the most part. Just need to cap it, so I put the motor/trans back in so I can figure out how I want to do it.

The Reverse Lockout Solenoid will be removed! They suck, are literally a terrible design, and I always remove them from every t56 I build.

 

That is a really cool looking car. Should be an excellent ride when you are done.

 

Not really sure how I'm going to fit exhaust manifolds yet. I really don't want to move the steering shaft (although I do intend on swapping a burgeson joint for the rag joint).

Picked up a 4ftx10ft sheet of 18gauge to finish everything up, then I ran out of gas yesterday in both welders :/

Got most of the passenger side firewall finished this morning. I can't really do the driver side until my pedal assembly gets here next week.

 

Called a guy I know about getting a cage built for the car today and he quoted me $2,500 for a 4-6pt Chromoly. My jaw almost hit the floor. That seems absurdly expensive. So I'm looking into other options.

Pedal assembly showed up, going to start on that soon. Just waiting on Corbeau's and seat brackets to get here.

 

Around where I live, it is $200-$250 per point depending on who it is.

 

Yeah, that's definitely seems to be the average price per point. I've never heard of a $2,500 4pt cage (well roll bar really).

Going to shop around, wish I had a quality bender, I would just do it myself.

 

There are some decent inexpensive benders out there, especially some of the make your own from parts. I did a bender from the Frank Takac's trike's plans. Its handy to have around.

 

What about a jegs our summit kit?

Almost finished with the firewall. Have a piece on the driver side that I can't finish until I install the pedal assembly next week. Also had to relocate the VIN plate since I cut out the factory pedal housing that it was attached to. Interestingly, it's just screwed in from the factory with 4 tiny screws.

Seats showed up yesterday, brackets this morning.

However, the "correct" brackets didn't even come close to fitting so I had to cut all the mounting tabs off and make my own.

Really disappointed that this bracket was $120 and fitment was garbage.
