New Hooker 3rd-gen F-Body LS swap System Preview

Todd,
Definitely interested in the trans. crossmember.
Any reason why you didn't go with a pivot joint instead?
Does it require a special torque arm?
do you have an estimation on when it would be available?
Thanks.

Hello Thomas. The crossmember is designed to work with the stock torque arm to contribute to keeping the total cost of the swap low. It's also designed to work in conjunction with the Hooker LS swap engine mounts, so you will be fighting to use it as a universal crossmember in some other application.

Hello Toddoky, here is what I have.
1983 Camaro Z28, T top car.
2014 LS3, GM oil pan 12628771 (98-01 F body) / TR6060 trans
Detroit Speed front & rear suspension, and a new replacement floor pan waiting.
As of right now I still have this on the body rotisserie. But I need to order the swap engine mounts and headers this week or VERY SOON. So if I need to do any floor modification I'm set.
Now what of your new parts will work with the list of stuff that I have?
Thanks
Also THANKS for posting and supporting this forum.

Will the dust cover for the 4L80E Clearance it is installed? Mine is an 2002 model transmission. Products look great very excited and that you guys made this happen with the option the be able to run a 4L80e.

Yes, the converter cover will install with the headers. Accommodating the 4L80/4L85 is a must at this stage in the LS swap game since so many guys are wanting to use them.

Status update- I've completed the final fitment validation of all the parts as of today and have also completed final design revisions to the transmission crossmember CAD model to optimize it's fitment and exhaust clearance. The components will now enter the production phase and will be released in a staggered manner in the following order: 1.) headers 2.) engine mounting brackets 3.) exhaust systems 4.) transmission crossmember and adapters. If you have any questions, just post them up.

We actually do sell a 3" to 2.5" long taper reducer kit already (42107HKR), so they are available if you need them. I don't know how well the exhaust system will work with the Spohn torque arm mount as it is designed to route through the arches in the Hooker crossmember.

If I were trying to get those two systems to work together I would modify the back of the Hooker crossmember to pick up the swivel link of the Spohn torque arm since I don't like how all of the crossmembers on the market, like the Spohn unit, cantilever off of the frame attachment bolts and don't provide any exhaust passage clearance. It's also easier for most guys to weld plate steel than to weld thin wall exhaust tubing.

Here's a couple more images for you guys to mull over this weekend...they depict the ground clearance of the two exhaust system configurations that will be available as part of the Hooker 3rd-gen LS swap system of parts. The system that dips down slightly under the subframe rails is the automatic transmission kit and the other is for the T56/T56 Magnum kit.
