fbody longtubes in a 69 camaro/firebird
Here's what I'm thinking: http://www.ebay.com/itm/220940429764...mtr&rmvSB=true
I have the engine in the stock location, with the stock clutch linkage (z-bar) and steering box.
Just curious as to what others think here. Any advice helps. Thanks.
On a side note if anyone has made their own headers and had a good experience with a particular tubing please don't hesitate to speak up. Right now if I get the tubing and flanges from scummit it should cost about $100.

Those ebay swap headers look tempting; because my engine sits so far back, the last two pipes may clear the steering box. But at least if I make my own then I can guarantee them to fit.
Also, for a stock 5.3 that *might* have a centrifugal supercharger (low boost, probably 6-8 with everything stock) in its future, what size primary tubes would you recommend? I was originally going with 1 5/8 but after thinking about a mild aspirated setup maybe the 1 3/4?

i tried in my 71 impala no they will not fit without a lot of modifications
as the first tubes art bent at all for the crossmember they basically are for the lower f body
I took my time, had 12 hours into the first side and 10 hours into the other. Only special tools I used were a bandsaw and a welder. I bolted the flanges to the head, tacked the collectors where I wanted them in the chassis and started connecting the dots. After building them I sent them off to Nitroplate to be ceramic coated. All said and done I have less than $500 into them.
I'd build my own set again.
