Totally out of my price range too zTimbo.

Honestly, that price is about the same as the LS7 crate engines and cheaper than the LS9's are going for. I see the controller PN 19331517 with no price but it will probably be about the same as the other crate controllers. My question is what do you need for a fuel system?

Edit:
I just found the fuel requirements in the literature. Like a diesel there is a low pressure side and a high pressure side. the high pressure pump is on the engine and the manual says this about fueling "...fuel pump that delivers 500 kPa (72psi) at 45 gallons per hour is required." All the fuel pumps I buy can already support that. Too bad I don't have $16,000 laying around burning a hole in my pocket. Hahaha

That price is pretty damn good IMO. I can tell you from a ERL 434 I had built, 16k isn't much when it's all said and done.

I've been wondering about these Gen V engines that come with no P/S pumps, is there a kit that allows you to add it or I'm forced to use some sort of electric power steering add-on kit?

And about that LT4 crate engine, the price tag is so attractive!

Had it all on display at SEMA. Really nice to see Chevy go to market much sooner with the LT1 stuff rather than take so long to recognize the swap potential of these drivetrains. I'm sure the price will come down as more wrecked Silverados and Corvettes start to find their way into the salvage yards.

I am also impressed they are coming out with a wet sump LT4 from the get go even though there is no OEM application (at least not yet but will probably be a wet sump in the ZL1 or Z28 at some point maybe).

I can tell you that as a middle class blue collar American, 16k for an engine that would be going in an occasionally driven hot rod is absolutely silly. I completely understand if you got the cash to that, not knocking anyone for working hard and making a good life. I get how the whole hot rod scene has pretty much turned into a dick measuring contest that you can show off on your Facebook page, like everything else everyone seems to think they need to show off to the world. 16k for 650 hp just seems steep, when a junkyard 5.3 and a turbo will easily do that for a whole lot less.

The Wet sump pan looks like it has possibilities for swapping........and there will be kits available soon for the smaller 4L70 and 80 transmissions........Hummm!!!
