Default T56 swap questions

I'm putting a gto ls2 in my 63 chevy II wagon and I'll be using a trans from a 2007 cts-v. I have the bell housing from the cts-v as well. My question is can anyone tell me if I need to run the starter from the cts-v or will the gto starter be ok? I don't know if the bellhousings are starter specific or not. Thanks

The GTO bellhousing is starter specific, but I don't know if the CTSV bellhousing is or not. The solenoid on the GTO starter is clocked further out towards the frame than other starters, so it can limit your choice of headers/manifolds.

Fortunately I have both starters. I'm about to pull this engine off the stand and put on my cradle then I'll mock it all up. Learning a lot as I go but figured you guys might have some experience and insight on this. Thanks Todd
