Default Need help 5.3 ls4 ?

Well I have 87 Grand Prix I wanna do a ls swap on and I have a donor 06 impala ss but it's front wheel drive and has a different pulley system. Can I use this engine for my swap and if so what do I need to change to make it work?

take a look at the LS4 starter and bellhousing pattern, that will be a bigger issue.
And the LS4 has a shorter crank that wont work with other accessory drives.

Not worth the hassle IMHO. 5.3L are plentyfull. The LS4 should have. 243 HEADS. THU..

Yea I just figure that out . Maybe I'll just use the 243 heads which are ls6 head with ls1 soft valve spring's.

You have a G-body, a very common swap candidate. There are plenty of g-body builds to learn from on the forum.
Agree with others, the LS4 is an oddball front drive engine, don't bother trying to make it work.

It's possible, I put one in my MGB. It will require some fabrication though. You can look at how I approached adapting a RWD starter here.

I've had it on the road since this past spring and am very happy with the result. If you want to read about how I stuffed it into my B you can look here.

It's going to be more work than starting with a RWD motor but can be done. Hope this helps.
