Default Best fuel line kit option?

I have a 67 Camaro with a L76 G8 motor and trans installed. I bought the Tanks Inc. narrowed "stock style" gas tank. I need some good options for fuel line. I was going to hard line it but I'm going to need a lot of fittings to make that happen and still have to have a couple sections of flex line. What is everyone using. I know Tanks inc has a kit, but I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the push lock fitting and none braided hose.
Any suggestions???

Thanks in advance

Default Fuel line

My latest build I used the OEM style nylon lines. A 25 foot roll of 3/8" is about $30 with the 5/16" a little cheaper. GM end fittings are easy to get at the junkyard. You will need the special tool to put the tube onto the fitting. Dorman sells it for about $60. The additives in the fuel will not attack the nylon and there are tons of fuel filters for $10 that are OEM with correct GM fittings. I found the nylon easier to work with and routing easier than with hard line. In my case the complete system has 6 fittings including those at the filter. an 18" piece of 3/8" fuel injection rubber hose is $11.

That's what I originally had and I had one of the barbs fittings about 8 inches from the exhaust. The nylon got warm and allowed gas to spray out on the exhaust and I caught the car on fire. So I'm trying to stay away from nylon.

I use 3/8" NICOPP for fuel line and it works well, is easy to bend and will take any type of flare you can create. I use factory quick disconnect GM fittings and J30R9 fuel injection hose for the areas requiring a flexible joint.

Most crimp tools can't crimp GM quick disconnect fuel (or transmission) fittings but I have one that does. If you can't, you can still use the J30R9 hose with the NICOPP line if fuel injection (smooth style) clamps are used.

Tanks Inc has a fuel line kit designed to work with your tank. I have one but have not installed it yet. Link is below.

I too would use NiCopp hard line for the long run under the car. A while back I made a video about how to mate the NiCopp line with AN fittings and hose.

Andrew,
Thanks for posting that video...I think you helped me finalize my decision to use nicopp over nylon. Both materials have advantages but I like nicopp's ability to be bent and put where I want them run. I have braided stainless lines presently and they emit fuel vapor.

Question...what AN end fittings go on the nicopp line? Can I re use the existing ones on my braided stainless? If I could re use the existing AN fittings, I would only need to buy the 37 deg tool and the nicopp line. Thanks -Leon

Even thought the NiiCopp is easy to bend and flare, the RIGID tool that Andrew has in the video is by far the best money I spent on tools. Ballpark price of $100. I've bought cheap (SUMMIT RACING BRAND) and it was JUNK and a waste of money. Buy the tool once.

I plumbed my whole car, brakes, clutch and fuel, in nickle copper lines. Did it back in the day before all the major parts stores started carrying the stuff. I ordered everything from England.

NiiCopp is a dream to work with. Bends, cuts and flairs like no tomorrow. The only draw back is the price. It is much cheaper now than it was, but still not cheap.

I used compression fittings to go from the hardline to AN fittings (fuel only). Haven't had an issue in 9+ years. A lot of the compression fittings are only rated for 50 psi but many handle EFI pressures so shop accordingly. I am carb'd so russel and summit fitting worked for me.

I did see the tool much cheaper a few places but I agree...I will buy the rigid brand. I hate working with cheap tools.

All AN fittings are standard, so they will all work. As I show in the video you will need the right tube sleeves and nuts and a male-male union then your hose ends goes on the other end of the union.

I bought a metal tubing from Jegs and ran it from my diff to my fuel rail and used Parker-a-loc fittings to -6an adaptors.
