Default Question on third gen instrument cluster

If it swap an ls1 into my third gen(92), is there anything i can do with the instrument cluster? My spedometer goes up to 110 and on my tach its a redline of 4500. I know i could get a sepereate tach, which im not all that thrilled about, but what to do with the speedometer?...that is not to mention if I get the LS1 pcm to work with my spedometer.

You have that instrument cluster because your car is a low performance version. You just need to substitute this cluster and not bother with adding aftermarket gauges.

You'll need a Dakota Digital tach adapter to make the tach read correctly with the LS1.

Yea thats exactly what i need. But that is the first time ive seen that instrument cluster. All the ones ive seen that fit the 91 and 92's are the 110 mph ones. Is the one in the picture for sale? If not, do ya know where i could get one?

speartechs cluster is from a z28 i believe. most of the LB9 cars(depending on other performance trim) and all of the 90-92 L98's came with that gauge set.

Yes, this cluster is from a 91 5.7 TPI Z28.

$135 shipped, if interested.

The LB9 Z28's I've seen around here seem to have the 110 speedo, while the L98 cars have the 145. I don't know what it takes to get the 145 on an LB9 car?? Manual trans or Z rated tires maybe??

an LB9 with the G92 group may have it and any car with some or all of the B4C group woudl have it. most of the one si have seen had G92, LB9, GU6, adn JG1 on the list to have the "good" cluster.
