The 5.3 is here, so I had to set the blower on it! The previous owner painted it Pontiac blue. I'll probably paint it something else, it doesn't match anything on the truck. It came with 706 heads, which I'm selling. I'm picking up a set of 241's next Friday.

I'm guessing you're going to use adapter plates to make the blower work with cathedral port heads? Looking great man!

How much do the adapters raise the blower up?

I didn't put the adapters on, I just sat the blower on the motor. The adapters are only 1/2" thick. So it shouldn't raise it much at all!

Motor mounts came in from Current Performance today. I also pulled the snout off the blower. It has a solid isolator, so I won't have to replace the junk stock one. I'm getting the snout ported also.

A little update, I ordered a DBC harness from a 5.3. I bought an LSA balancer and crank pin kit for $175. Also the Bosch pump for the heat exchanger should be in today or tomorrow. I'm going to put the motor mounts in tonight. I'm picking up a set of 241 heads tomorrow. Then going to upgrade the valvetrain, and get a cam. Also I need to get an h3 oil pan, coils, injectors and a 92mm Nick Williams TB.

Make sure your bolts do not hit on your mounts when you slide them back and forth. I bought those mounts years ago, and had to open up where the bolt head sat, so they could slide all the way back. Also, MAKE SURE, you know which is driver and which is passenger, otherwise, your $hit won't fit correctly. They SHOULD be marked.

Alright thank you for letting me know about that. I'll definatly make sure to check. Also they did mark which is driver and passenger on them, so that's good.

No I'm running an untouched bottom end this season. Not really worried about the longevity of it. I plan on building an LQ4 once the season is over.

Little update, I got the motor mounts installed. The 7.5 rear is ready to come out of the truck. Just needed to spray down the bolts on the leaf springs with pb blaster, didn't want to snap them. I'm going to remove 2/3 leafs so it drops the truck a little. I dropped my trans and blower off at my buddy's house, he's building my trans and porting the blower. That's it for now, next thing on the list is cam and valvetrain!

Since my axle is shortened, it uses 2 passenger side axles. So I just got my other axle in yesterday. Going to be putting the posi in and finishing the rear up. Then going to put it in the truck and install the caltracs, then the rear will be done. Coil packs, valley cover, knock sensors and harness came in. Also the cam retainer and etc came in. Now just need to order the cam and valvetrain parts.

My friend that's building my trans, and is helping build the truck is building a nova. He was doing a 106mm turbo on a 540, now he's doing twin 88's! He's also using the shifter I plan on using, kilduff Lightning rods.

You'll like the Kilduff lightning rods, I have one of the first ones they made from a number of years ago.

I was just going to get a TCI outlaw shifter. These are just too cool to not have

Looking good. Curious to see your exhaust set up. I put a 5.3 in an 03 s10 also. But mine is a dedicated racer so brake booster and PS went out the door.

Do you have a build thread? I'm doing long tubes, then was just going to run the exhaust out in front of the rear tires.
