Default 2003 S10 5.3 LSA/TH400 Swap

Well the original plan was to do a cookie cutter turbo 5.3 build. We then decided to do a blower. The truck I got for $500 with a 2.2 and 4l60e. It has an 8.8 rear with a posi and caltracs that's going in it. The transmission is a TH400, just got a rebuild kit. Now just waiting on the rmvb, and trans brake from Jakes Performence. Just ordered the lid for the blower, heat exchanger, ice box and some other parts. I'll post pics as the parts come in, they should all be in by next week. Looking for a motor now, that's the next item on the list. Going to run stock block 5.3, with a upgraded cam, valve springs, rockers, lifters etc. The goal for the build is just a fun street truck, really excited about it.

If you don't already have a motor why not find an iron 6.0 that already has the square port heads? They're not much more money.

They're a decent amount more around me, trust me I wanted a 6.0. They are just all ridiculously priced here. That's why I'm going with the 5.3.

I was going to do that too, but those blowers add up once you get everything you need, and the damn injectors kill you. People think the stock ones are gold, and there are not a lot of good choices for aftermarket that aren't gold. Unfortunately, you can't run those cheap 80# dekas. Had to go back to the 1st plan, and I am running a turbo.

Guess I just got a good deal. I spent $3500 for a fresh lq4 with complete lsa blower, lid, injectors, fuel rail, etc. I'll still have well over 10k into my swap though. The motor and blower is the cheap part.

Yeah I got just about everything for it, just have a few more things to get. It does add up quick, especially all the little parts. You did get a good deal on your lq4! It's hard to find one around me that's not an arm and a leg.

My buddy is going to pick up a 5.3 with 89k miles on it on Wednesday! Slowly getting everything together. Very excited about this build.
