Default 1967 Beaumont build

I am totally new to this site as of like a month or so ago
My name is Ken and I am from Douro Ontario Canada

I actually have two LQ4 builds on the go at the moment
a 1967 Beaumont ( Canadian Chevelle) and a 61 C10 shortbox

both are twin ON3 70mm turboed 6l 4l80e's

I hope no one cares if I just post a link to the website I was posting on as it is way too much work to start all over again here

I will post here from now on as the builds progress

the Beaumont will be a quasi pro touring dailey driver in the summer, and a parking lot slalom car, with some drifting, and arm drop drags for good measure

Let me know your thoughts on the Beaumont build

Love the Beaumont. You don't see those everyday. Don't remember seeing what motor mounts you used?

the mounts are a generic multi hole aluminum plate off of ebay
Uses the stock sbc engine mount, located in second last hole from the front - last hole would only gain me about 3/4" - not enough to worry about as the motor sits exactly where the sbc did, and it is a 100 lbs lighter, and with the 4l80 being like 150 lbs more than the powerglide - the weight shift to the centre of the car should be about perfect I hope
couldnt go to last hole as the 4l80 woulda hit everywhere
as it is - the motor angle is 4 degrees on all of the stock mounts so I assume thats what it should be as one would have to move the tranny up about 2.5 inches to get closer to 2 or so degrees and then the driveshaft yoke would be hitting the floor brace
so it is what it is - and I adjusted the adjustable rear axle upper control arns to give me a 2.5 degree difference between diff and trans

Default more work/progress

so since my last post I have finished the engine and turbo fabrication and now just have a ton of tig welding to do - and I am just learning how to tig weld so it is a slow process to be sure

the other thing that is seriously time consuming is making everything symetrical and identical from side to side for the turbos and piping

got the seats dyed from ugily green to black to match the interior - but I think i may go to a newer style race seat if I can swing the money

car is sitting down on the ground for the first time since i started the build - and rear end sits a bit high for my tastes so maybe a drop spring in the rear
it is going to look some mean with all that rubber squeezed under it once i get the rake suitable
