Default engine build help

I have a 88 monte carlo ss and im pretty sure im will be swaping out my 350 with a ls based engine. I like the 6.0 and the 6.2 truck engines. My goal is to have a 500-600hp engine, and i know i will lose a little of that by the time it gets to the wheels. And i should add that i dont plan on racing i just want something with a lot of potential. How much power can the stock crank and pistons hold up to? and last but not least...Im interested in the stroker kits for the two engines..Will the block need and machine work for these kits or not.

Thanks in advance

Stock internals can hold up to a shitload of power. If your just looking to have some fun on the street then just find motor and drop a cam in it. 400hp to the rear wheels is a LOT of fun.
