Why are these two throwout bearings so different?
The short one is what I had in there for the ZZ502.
I currently have the short one installed, because I couldn't see why I'd want such a differently sized one - it has to throw something off somewhere, and I'm basically trying to duplicate the dimensions I had for the ZZ502.
Is there a reason it's so much taller? Should I somehow make it work, or stick with the short one from the previous setup?
Google "measure throw out bearing depth"and watch a video/start reading.
I didn't measure mine the first time through because I stupidly trusted the vendor who sold it to me. Overextended the HTOB and had to buy a new one.
I have yet to find a reference that shows setting up a mechanical linkage throwout bearing, but I'll keep looking.
"Throwout bearing: The thicker Sachs flywheel will work with the old 1.25" throwout bearing, clutch fork, and pivot ball. An adjustable pivot ball is always a good idea, and here's a good site for clutch for geometry.

And the shallower LS1 flywheel will require a longer, about 1 3/4", GM throwout bearing (PT614037)."
